American Citizenships

In my American History class, we get in a lot of debates about anything (poltics,citizenship,war just to name a few) and things always get heated.When I do take part in them I'm either shaking or red and I don't usually take part I only do when I have to get my point across.I tend to take the Europeans' Point of View not the Americans'.I'm an American citizen but there are times when I don't think myself as an American citizen.We were debating about citizenship and I asked this kid named Ted. This is the bit that we said or heard

I'm the bold

"But Ted what would you do if we aren't American citizens?"

"What are then you doing in America?"

"For better educidution,better jobs, and to get away from it all. "

"Then get out of my country you.. tradior

"Ted I'm not a 'tradior'. Nothing gives you that right to call me names"

" Are you an American citizen? If you're not then get out of my country."

	Maybe Just Maria: 11/04/2009 12:11 PM This is a very touchy subject for me cause I was not born in the United States. My parents left South America when I was only four years old. It was hell for me. The farthest back I can remember is when I was four crying in the corner of my Pre Kinder class room because I didn't understand what anyone was saying. sometimes I wish my parents hadn't taken me away cause I grew up/am growing up without my family near and because of my constant moving, I have never been able to create a stable relationship with anyone. But then there are those times when I hear stories about people in south america. it's dangerous, the education sucks and whatever I do within us territory will be much more valid than anywhere else. The USA is a better opportunity.
